【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestheprocedures,formatsandfacilitiesatthePacketLayerforDataTerminalEquipment(DTE)operatinginconformancewithITU-TRecommendationX.25.BothVirtualCallandPermanentVirtualCircuitmodesofoperationarecovered.ThePacketLayerprotocolspecifiedhereincanbeusedinbothOpenSystemsInterconnection(OSI)andnon-OSIenvironments.WhenusedwithinthecontextofOSI,thePacketLayerprotocolisencompassedintheNetworkLayeroftheOSIReferenceModel,ITU-TRec.X.200IISO/IEC7498-1.ThisInternationalStandardcoversDTEoperationatthePacketLayerwhenaccessingapublicorprivatepacket-switchednetworkconformingtoITU-TRecommendationX.25bymeansofadedicatedpathoracircuit-switchedconnection.ItalsocoverstheadditionalPacketLayerproceduresnecessaryfortwoDTEsconformingtothisInternationalStandardtocommunicatedirectly(i.e.,withoutaninterveningpacket-switchednetwork)overadedicatedpath,acircuit-switchedconnection,oralocalareanetwork(LAN).ThisInternationalStandardalsocoversprivatenetworksthatuseITU-TRecommendationX.25toconnecttopacket-switchedpublicdatanetworksandthatmayalsoofferanX.25interfacetoaDTE(seeannexA).Toevaluateconformanceofaparticularimplementation,itisnecessarytohaveastatementofwhichcapabilitiesandoptionshavebeenimplemented.SuchastatementiscalledaProtocolImplementationConformanceStatement(PICS),asdefinedinITU-TRec.X.290|ISO/IEC9646-1.AnnexBprovidesthePICSproformainaccordancewiththerelevantguidancegiveninITU-TRec.X.296|ISO/IEC9646-7.ThefirsteditionofthisInternationalStandardwasbasedonthe1984CCITTRedBooktextofRecommendationX.25.Italsocontainedthenecessaryprovisionsforcompatibilitywiththeearlier1980CCITTYellowBooktextofRecommendationX.25.Thesecondeditionwasbasedonthe1988CCITTBlueBooktextofRecommendationX.25.Thethirdeditionisbaseduponthe1993versionofX.25.Thisfourtheditionisbasedonthe1996versionofX.25.Retainedwithinthisfourtheditionarethenecessaryprovisionsforcompatibilitywiththe1993,1988,1984and1980versionsofX.25.ThedifferencesbetweenvariouseditionsofthisInternationalStandardaresummarizedinannexC.ItshouldbenotedthatthisInternationalStandardandITU-TRecommendationX.25asitappliestoDTEsaredifferentinscope.ThisInternationalStandardcontainsthespecificationsthatITU-TRecommendationX.25placesonDTEs.Inaddition,thisInternationalStandardcontainsaddedspecificationstofacilitateinterworkingbetweenDTEsandtocoverdirectDTE-to-DTEoperation.ThisbroaderscopehastoberecognizedintheapplicationofthisInternationalStandard.
