【摘要】:Dataaregatheredatground-watersitesformanypurposes.Eachpurposerequiresadifferentcombinationofdataelements.However,itismandatorythateveryground-watersiteincludeaminimumsetofdataelementstouniquelyidentifythatsitebypreciselylocatingwithcoordinatesandpoliticalregimes,absolutelyidentifyingtheowneranddatasource,andclearlydefiningthebasicsitecharacteristics.ThisinformationisdescribedinPracticeD5254.Asapartofaground-waterproject,eachsiterequiresadditionaldataelements,beyondtheminimumset,toassistintheinterpretationofthelocalandarealhydrology.Asanexample,forahydrologicreconnaissancestudyofaground-waterbasin,eachwellorspringsiterequiresbasicinformationconcerningconstruction,waterlevel,yield,geology,andwaterchemistry.Additionalinformationisneedediftheprojectisawastefacilityinvestigation,usuallytosatisfylocal,state,andfederalenvironmentalregulations.1.1Thisguidecoverstheselectionofdataelementsforthedocumentationofground-watersites.ThedataelementsaredescribedinfourASTMstandardsoutlininginformationthatmaybecollectedatground-watersites.Examplesofspecificinvestigationsaregivenwiththelogicofwhytoselectindividualandcombinationsofdataelementstomeettherequirementsofthestudies.Note1Aground-watersiteisanysource,location,orsamplingstationcapableofproducingwaterorhydrologicdatafromanaturalstratumfrombelowthesurfaceoftheearth.Asourceorfacilitycanincludeawell,springorseep,anddrainortunnel(nearlyhorizontalinorientation).Othersources,suchasexcavations,drivendevices,boreholes,ponds,lakes,andsinkholes,thatcanbeshowntobehydraulicallyconnectedtothegroundwater,areappropriatefortheuseintended.Note2ThefourASTMstandardsthatdescribethedataelementsforgroundwaterarePracticeD5254andGuidesD5408,D5409,andD5410.1.2Systematicandconsistentdatacollectionarenecessaryfortheinvestigationoftheavailabilityandtheprotectionorrestorationofground-waterresources.Thelevelofdetail,precisionandbias,andthetypeofdatathatneedtobecollecteddependontheobjectiveofthestudy,theexpectedcomplexityofthesystem,andtheresourcesavailablefortheinvestigation.Thisguidepresentsideasonwhatinformationshouldbecollectedforspecificstudies,whycertaindataelementsaremandatory,andtheimportancetocurrentandfutureinvestigationsofmaintainingqualitycontrolonthecollectionandretentionofthesedata.Thisguidefocusesonthosedataelementsthataregatheredatthefield-sitelocationandareusedtoassistininterpretingthehydrologyoftheground-watersourceandtomeetregulatoryrequirements.Otheranalyticalandqualityassurance/qualitycontrol(QA/QC)considerationsareaddressedinotherstandardsandbeyondthescopeofthisguide.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetit......
