【摘要】:Extensionalviscosityisameasureoftheresistanceofaliquidtostretchingforces,suchasthoseoccurringduringthedisruptionofliquidfilmsandtheformationofspraysusedinagricultureandotherpurposesincludingpaintingoperationsormetalworking.ThismethodformeasurementofaScreenFactor,givesarelativevalueforextensionalviscosity,whichmaybeused:4.1.1Tocomparethepotentialfordriftcontrolofdifferentpolymers.4.1.2Tocomparetherelativeextensionalviscositycomponentofdifferentspraytankmixtures.4.1.3Todeterminetheextentofbreakdownofpolymersolutionsusedasdriftcontroladditivesduringtherecirculationofthesolutionsthroughpumpsandscreens.4.1.4TouseasaparameterintheSprayDriftTaskForceModelsfordropletsizeprediction.Itshouldalsobenotedthatmanydriftcontrolpolymersareirreversiblydestroyedduringtherecirculationofspraymixesbypumpingwithhighshearpumpssuchasgearorcentrifugalpumps.Itisadvisabletosubjectthetestmixturetosimilarpumpingregimestosimulatepracticalconditionsbeforecarryingouttheextensionalviscositytest.Measurementsofextensionalviscosityaretheonlypresentlyknownmethodofdeterminingtheextentofthisbreakdownpropertiesofdilutepolymersolutions.Thismethodisintendedtoproducearelativevalueforextensionalviscosity.Thepurposeofthemethodistocomparetheextensionalviscosityproducedbydifferentpolymertypesorconcentrationsofpolymerinspraytankmixes.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftherelativeextensionalviscosityorScreenFactor(SF)ofdiluteagriculturalspraymixes.1.2Thetestcanbeusedfortankmixescontainingdissolved,emulsifiedordispersedmaterials,ormixtures.1.3Resultsmaybeaffectedbythequalityofthewaterused.Make-upwaterqualityshouldthereforebespecifiedinthepresentationofresults.1.4Propersafetyandhygieneprecautionsmustbetakenwhenworkingwithpesticideformulationstopreventskinoreyecontact,vaporinhalation,andenvironmentalcontamination.Readandfollowallhandlinginstructionsforthespecificformulationandconductthetestinaccordancewithgoodlaboratorypractice.Note1Referencestothedevelopmentofextensionalviscosityfromdissolvedpolymers,extensionalviscosityeffectsonthedropletsizedistributionofsprays,andmeasurementsofscreenfactoronrecirculatedspraymixescontainingpolymersareavailable.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
