【摘要】:ThisguideisintendedtoprovidegeneralguidancetoHHWprogramsforacceptingandsegregatingmaterials,selectingamanagementmethod,andpackagingmaterialscollectedbyHHWprograms.1.1ThisguidecoversHouseholdHazardousWaste(HHW)programsforaccepting,segregatingandpackagingmaterialscollectedthroughHHWprogramstominimizetheriskassociatedwithmanagingthesematerialsandtoidentifyapplicableregulations.Thisguidedoesnotaddressstoring,vehicleloadingortransportingcollectedandpackagedmaterials.Thisguidedoesnotattempttodefinethehazardousnatureofmaterials.1.2Certainexistinglocal,stateandfederalregulationsapplytoHHWprogramoperations.Thisguidedoesnotreplacetheseexistingregulations,andisnotintendedtobeusedasthebasisforregulationsforHHWPrograms.Thisguidedoesnotreferenceallapplicableapplications,sinceapplicableregulationswillvary.HHWProgramsshouldresearchallapplicableregulationsbeforeestablishingamaterialscollectionprogram.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisguidetoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
