【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameanstoevaluatetheresistancetoparticlesheddingofathermalspraycoating.Suchparticlesheddingmightoccurduringsurgicalinsertionofanimplantorastheresultofmicromotionoftheimplantafterinsertion.Thisabrasiontestmethodmaybeusefulforqualitycontrolanalysisofacoating,anditcanbeusedtoevaluatetheeffectsofprocessingvariables,suchassubstratepreparationbeforecoating,surfacetexture,coatingtechniquevariables,orpostcoatingtreatments,anyofwhichmayinfluencethesusceptibilityofthecoatingtoparticleshedding.Thisabrasiontestmethodisforflatplate-shapedspecimensofasizesufficientthatthewheelsoftheabraderdonotleavethesurfaceofthespecimen.Itisnotrecommended,however,fordeviceswithothershapesorsizes.1.1Thistestmethodquantifiestheabrasionresistanceofmetalliccoatingsproducedbythermalsprayprocessesonflatmetallicsurfaces.Itisintendedasameansofcharacterizingcoatingsusedonsurgicalimplants.1.2ThistestusestheTaberAbraser,whichgeneratesacombinationofrollingandrubbingtocauseweartothecoatingsurface.Wearisquantifiedascumulativemassloss.1.3Thistestmethodislimitedtoflat,rigidspecimensthatdonotreactsignificantlywithwateranddonotundergoaphasetransformationorchemicalreactionbetweenroomtemperatureand100176;Cinair.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicableregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
